Brief Introduction:

Cumene hydroperoxide is a colorless to light yellow liquid with a sharp, irritating odor. Flash point 79.44℃. Boils at 153°C and at 100°C at the reduced pressure of 8 mm Hg. Slightly soluble in water and denser than water. Hence sinks in water. Readily soluble in alcohol, acetone, esters, hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons. Toxic by inhalation and skin absorption. Used in production of acetone and phenol, as a polymerization catalyst, in redox systems.

Main Application:

CUMENE HYDROPEROXIDE may be used for various polymerization reactions. It can be used in emulsion, solution and bulk polymerizations.

In emulsion processes, CUMENE HYDROPEROXIDE may be activated by organic-soluble or water-soluble reducing agents, or by metal compounds to achieve polymerization at room temperature or lower.

When no accelerators are used, effective polymerization can be obtained in the temperature range of 50-200°C. For example, styrene and methyl methacrylate can be polymerized in bulk in the temperature range of 60-100°C using CUMENE HYDROPEROXIDE.

CUMENE HYDROPEROXIDE may also be used for emulsion polymerization of various vinyl monomers. In this case CUMENE HYDROPEROXIDE may be used in combination with reducing agents to achieve reproducible results at low temperatures.

Package and Storage:
Packing and shipping

standard package can contain25kg,200 kg,1000kg peroxides by high density polyethylene barrels.

F organic peroxide type liquid, category 5.2;

Storage

-30° C ( minimum )  to 40 ° C ( highest), in order to prevent crystallization.

To achieve the recommended storage conditions, CUMENE HYDROPEROXIDE performance can be maintained for at least three months.
